Robert Moore Park Redevelopment |
Robert Moore Park is moving! The park will be relocated across the street to the corner of Sydenham-Pearl Street, which will expand the park to over 2 acres—double the size of its current location at 115 Albion Street. The relocated park will feature upgraded playground equipment with a climber and swing set, versatile field space, a community garden, and a multi-purpose pad for pavement games and basketball. Plans also include a shade shelter and space for a medium sized splash pad. The current Robert Moore Park will remain open and dedicated to recreational use until construction at the new location has been completed, ensuring the community has access to park space throughout construction. Community engagement opportunities will be unveiled in the coming months, inviting residents to contribute to the park's design and development. |

Reimagining Arrowdale |
On December 17, 2019 Brantford City Council voted to direct staff to dispose of the City owned lands at 282 Stanley St. to fund much needed affordable housing within the municipality. The sale of these lands provides a substantial capital foundation to create much needed, sustainable affordable housing in our community. The proceeds from the land sale combined with ongoing tax revenues, creative financial planning, partnerships with non-profit housing sectors and federal and provincial funding streams have the potential to result in over 470 units of affordable, sustainable, mixed income housing options for the residents of Brantford and Brant over the next 10 years. Southwest Community Centre and Park |
Introducing Southwest Community Centre and Park – a vibrant development set to transform the southwesternmost part of the city! Joining forces in a collaborative effort, the Grand Erie District School Board (GEDSB) and the City of Brantford present a dynamic project. On 7.2 acres at the intersection of Shellard Lane and Strickland Ave, a Joint Build facility will house a new elementary school, community center, library, gymnasium, and multi-purpose rooms – fostering a hub for community engagement. But that's not all – adjacent to the school site, a 24-acre City of Brantford Community Park is set to become the largest in the southwestern part of the city. Boasting cricket and soccer fields, pickleball courts, a skate park, winding trails and more, this park promises to enhance the quality of life for Brantford's residents and foster exciting new connections among the community.
